Description
Megtraco Kenya supplies and builds gas control panels and changeover panels for LPG cylinder manifolds, bulk installations and industrial gas systems. A control panel is the point where gas supply becomes managed supply — regulated to correct pressure, monitored for contents, and switched automatically so service never interrupts.
Panel Types
Automatic Changeover Panels
Connect two cylinder banks — duty and reserve. When the duty bank empties, the panel switches automatically to reserve without interruption and raises a visual indicator showing that a bank needs replacement. The standard solution for restaurants, laboratories and any operation that cannot tolerate a gas outage mid-service.
Manual Changeover Panels
A lower-cost option where an operator is available to switch banks. A lever selects which side feeds the system.
Two-Stage Regulation Panels
First-stage regulation at the cylinders or tank, second-stage regulation near the appliances. Two-stage regulation delivers far more stable appliance pressure across varying demand and ambient temperature than a single regulator can.
Industrial Manifold Panels
Purpose-built assemblies for larger banks — multiple cylinders per side, high-capacity regulation, line filtration, contents gauges, safety relief and isolation valving, mounted on a steel backplate ready for wall fixing.
Panel Components
- High-pressure pigtails and non-return valves per cylinder
- Manifold headers with isolation valves
- First and second stage regulators
- Contents and line pressure gauges
- Over-pressure shut-off and relief valves
- Line filter
- Changeover indicator
- Optional solenoid shut-off interlocked to gas detection
Applications
Restaurant and hotel kitchens, bakeries, laboratories and hospitals, apartment gas rooms, food processing plants, and any industrial installation running on cylinder banks rather than bulk storage.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does an automatic changeover panel do?
It feeds gas from one cylinder bank while holding a second in reserve. When the duty bank pressure falls, the panel switches to the reserve bank automatically and shows an indicator, so gas supply continues uninterrupted and staff know to replace the empty side.
Why use two-stage pressure regulation?
Two-stage regulation holds appliance pressure far more stable as cylinder pressure falls and ambient temperature changes. It reduces flame variation, improves combustion efficiency, and is standard practice on commercial installations.
Do you build custom manifold panels?
Yes. We assemble panels to your cylinder count, load and layout, pressure-test them, and install and commission on site.
