Description
Megtraco Kenya supplies industrial and commercial LPG burners for boilers, ovens, furnaces, dryers, kilns and process heating across Kenya. We size, supply, install and commission burners complete with the gas train, controls and safety interlocks required for compliant operation.
A burner is not a standalone item — it is one component of a system that includes gas supply pressure, a certified gas train, combustion air, flame supervision and a control sequence. Megtraco supplies the complete package, because a burner matched to the wrong gas train or an inadequate supply line will never run reliably or safely.
Burner Types
Monoblock Package Burners
Self-contained forced-draught burners with integral fan, gas train and control box. The standard choice for steam and hot-water boilers, thermal oil heaters and air heaters. Available in on/off, two-stage and fully modulating control.
Duoblock Burners
Fan and burner head supplied as separate assemblies for larger duties, allowing more flexible plant room layout and higher capacities than monoblock designs.
Atmospheric and Ribbon Burners
For ovens, bakery tunnels, dryers and direct-fired process applications where a broad, even flame profile is required rather than a concentrated high-intensity flame.
Dual Fuel Burners
Gas and light fuel oil in one unit, allowing changeover if LPG supply is interrupted. Common where process continuity is critical.
Gas Train and Safety Components
Every industrial gas burner requires a properly specified gas train. Megtraco supplies and installs the complete assembly:
- Manual isolation valve and gas filter
- Pressure regulator with over-pressure shut-off
- Double safety solenoid valves with proof-of-closure
- High and low gas pressure switches
- Air pressure switch for combustion air proving
- Flame detection — ionisation probe or UV scanner
- Burner control and flame safeguard unit with purge and ignition sequencing
- Vent and test points
Applications
Steam and hot water boilers, bakery tunnel and deck ovens, tea and grain dryers, paint and powder-coating ovens, ceramic and brick kilns, thermal oil heaters, and industrial air heating. We serve manufacturing plants, food processors, tea factories, hotels and institutions across Kenya.
Conversion, Service and Spares
We convert diesel and heavy fuel oil burners to LPG, retrofit modern gas trains to older plant, service and tune existing burners for combustion efficiency, and supply spares — solenoid valves, pressure switches, ignition electrodes, flame probes and control boxes.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can an existing diesel burner be converted to LPG?
In many cases yes, either by fitting a gas burner to the existing appliance or by replacing with a dual-fuel unit. Feasibility depends on the appliance, combustion chamber geometry and available gas supply pressure. Our engineers assess this on site.
What gas supply pressure does an industrial burner need?
It varies by burner and duty; larger burners commonly require several hundred millibar at the train inlet. Supply pressure is a system design matter — tank regulation and pipe sizing must deliver the required pressure at full fire, which is why we size the gas line and the burner together.
Do you install and commission burners?
Yes. We install, wire, sequence and commission the burner with combustion analysis, set the air-to-gas ratio for efficiency, prove all safety interlocks, and issue commissioning documentation.
Do you service burners already installed?
Yes. We service and tune burners regardless of who supplied them, and offer planned maintenance contracts covering combustion tuning, safety device testing and spares.
