Description
Megtraco Kenya supplies and installs LPG autogas dispensers and complete autogas refuelling stations. We handle the full scope — storage tank, pump set, dispenser, dispensing hardware, safety systems, EPRA compliance and commissioning.
Autogas is LPG used as a vehicle fuel. It costs materially less per kilometre than petrol, burns cleaner, and extends engine life. For fleet operators — taxis, delivery vehicles, forklifts and light commercials — the fuel saving is the entire business case, and an on-site dispenser removes dependence on third-party stations.

Who Installs Autogas Stations
Fuel station operators adding an LPG lane, transport and logistics fleets fuelling in-house, taxi and PSV operators, industrial sites running LPG forklift fleets, and LPG distributors adding an autogas revenue line.
Compliance
Autogas installations in Kenya are licensed and inspected by EPRA. Site layout, separation distances, emergency isolation, fire protection and operator training are all assessed. Megtraco is EPRA licensed and manages the approval process as part of the project.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is autogas cheaper than petrol in Kenya?
Yes. LPG autogas is consistently priced below petrol per unit of energy delivered, and the running-cost saving is the principal reason fleets convert. The saving is largest for high-mileage vehicles, which is why taxis and delivery fleets adopt it first.
Can I install an autogas dispenser at my depot?
Yes, subject to EPRA licensing and a site assessment confirming adequate separation distances and safe vehicle circulation. Private fleet installations are common. Megtraco surveys the site, designs the layout and handles the licensing.
What is a breakaway coupling and why does it matter?
It is a hose fitting engineered to separate cleanly at a preset load and seal both ends automatically. If a driver pulls away while still connected, the coupling parts without tearing the hose or dispenser and without releasing gas. It is a mandatory safety component on any autogas dispenser.
Do you service existing autogas dispensers?
Yes. We service, calibrate and repair dispensers and pump sets, and supply spares including hoses, nozzles, breakaway couplings and meters.
