Description
LP Gas Train Equipment is the assembly of safety and control components installed in the gas supply line between the LPG storage vessel and the burner or appliance. A properly configured gas train protects equipment, operators and premises by ensuring gas is delivered at the correct pressure, filtered of debris, and automatically shut off in fault conditions.
Typical Gas Train Components
- Manual shut-off valve — primary isolation at the supply
- Gas strainer / filter — removes particulates that could damage downstream equipment
- Pressure governor / regulator — reduces line pressure to the appliance operating pressure
- Safety shut-off solenoid valves (SSOV) — fail-closed valves that cut gas automatically on power failure or burner lockout
- Pressure relief valve — protects pipework from over-pressure
- Pressure switches — low-gas and high-gas pressure interlocks to the burner control panel
- Valve proving system (optional) — confirms SSOV integrity before each burner start
Applications
- Industrial burners and ovens
- Steam boilers and hot water generators
- Textile, food processing and manufacturing furnaces
- Institutional kitchens with centralised LPG supply
- Commercial laundries and dryers
Standards and Safety
Gas train assemblies for Kenya are configured to meet KEBS and relevant international standards (EN 746, EN 161). Megtraco Kenya supplies, installs and commissions complete gas trains — ensuring correct component sizing, leak testing and compliance documentation.
